Zion Ezri
Was born in 1971 in Jerusalem, in a creative home surrounded by art, within a family of art collectors. At the age of six, his family moved to London, where Zion faced the challenge of learning two languages at once. During this time, he discovered a passion for fixing and playing with robot toys, sparking his interest in design and creativity.
After returning to Jerusalem and growing up there, Zion was inspired by the city’s unique blend of cultures, history, and architecture. He describes Jerusalem as a “living mosaic,” where the layers of people, religions, and artists shaped his view of life and the world.
In the late ’90s, Zion moved to New York City to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree. While there, he became deeply fascinated with the city’s vibrant art scene. Weekends were spent exploring flea markets, galleries, and museum exhibitions, which fueled his growing love for design, making his return to Jerusalem even more inspiring.
As Zion’s artistic journey developed, he opened his own art gallery in Jerusalem, where he began collecting art and collaborating with artists from various backgrounds. This experience not only expanded his creative vision but also deepened his connection to the art world. Alongside his art career, Zion earned a law degree from Bar-Ilan University, blending his academic and artistic pursuits.
When the challenging COVID-19 pandemic hit, Zion’s inner creativity burst forth. His deep-rooted passion for art found a powerful voice, and by using various materials and recycled elements such as metal and wood, his creativity met design, leading to a whole new art collection.
Zion is a self-taught creator, inspired by the Bauhaus movement, pop art, and ancient Hebrew letters. His artworks include 3D wall art and sculptures—funky robots, totems, masks, figures, and other designs. Each piece combines modern design with historical elements, transforming ideas and stories into bold, engaging works of art.
“My life and experiences are my greatest inspirations,” Zion says. “Growing up surrounded by history, culture, and a passion to create, I see art as a bridge between the past and the present. To me, life itself is art.”
